Geography and history
Newlands is a suburb situated in the southern part of Cape Town in the Western Cape of South Africa. This upmarket area is located in the wettest part of Cape Town because of the high winter rainfall. The biggest tourist attraction in this area is the Newlands Cricket Ground and Newlands Stadium which is home to the Stormers rugby team.
The Newlands Forrest, a very popular outdoor recreation, is incorporated within the Table Mountain National Park. The rainfall and Forrest contribute to a very picturesque and green area for tourists to visit. The name Newlands is a perfect description for the beautiful surroundings.
