Bloubergstrand is located about 25 km North of Cape Town City Centre. It is ideally located along the shores of Table Bay in the Western Cape. The name “Bloubergstrand” means “blue mountain beach” which was derived from Blaauwberg. Blaauwberg is a mountain located nearby Bloubergstrand.Bloubergstrand is a popular tourist detination and is mainly residential. Visit Bloubergstrand’s beach for a magnificent view of Table Mountain across the bay. Robben Island is ideally located 6.9 km west of Bloubergstrand.
Big Bay is a suburb situated in Bloubergstrand. It is one of Cape Town’s northernmost beach suburbs. Big Bay has a Blue Flag accredited beach which offers safe swimming and body surfing for locals and tourists.
