Cape Town - Kommetjie
General Information
Kommetjie is approximately 40kms outside of Cape Town’s CBD and is a popular location for Capetonians to go to “escape” the city life.
The village has retained its rural charm with beach houses dating back to the 1900’s coupled with its relaxing atmosphere surrounded by sea, mountains and nature. As the times have moved on larger houses and developments have risen however the residents are fiercely protective of their little gem and have managed to keep out any major developments.
Kommetjie is neatly placed between Slangkop Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean with its beautiful unspoilt beach stretching roughly 5kms along the coast. Long Beach is a popular surfing spot as is Crayfishing between November and April. Safe for swimming at the tidal pool, the beach is perfect for those summer days.
